Medellin can quite rightly claim to out-muscle Bogota as Colombia’s gastronomic capital. Aside from the local delicacy, bandeja paisa (essentially lots of different cuts of pork with rice, beans, avocado and black pudding), you can easily find any kind of international cuisine here. The quality is not to be scoffed at either, with a number of top notch restaurants to choose from at a range of prices. Hit the city at the end of August for Medellin’s food festival, Otro Sabor, to sample a great many delectable dishes.
